‘Cats Punch Third Consecutive Ticket to NCAA Championship Finals

Northwestern places second at NCAA Norman Regional to advance to California
NORMAN, Okla. (May 7, 2025) – The Northwestern University women's golf team, fueled by a 10-under-par second round, secured its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship Finals as the Wildcats finished second at the NCAA Norman Regional in Norman, Okla. Sophomore Ashley Yun led the 'Cats, earning runner-up honors.
The top five teams in the Norman Regional – Stanford, Northwestern, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Baylor – advance to play in the next round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championship Finals, May 16-21, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Northwestern, playing in its 15th consecutive NCAA Championships, posted a final-round 285 that saw it close its stay at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club (par 72; 6,445 yards) with a 14-under-par 850 (287-278-285). Due to anticipated inclement weather, the event featured the first two rounds on Monday, with the final round spread across Tuesday and Wednesday.
The country's top-ranked team, Stanford, finished atop the team leaderboard carding a 23-under-par 841 (276-284-281), while Cardinal Andrea Revuelta, the No. 8 golfer in the country, took home individual medalist honors with an 8-under-par 208 (68-73-67), besting Yun by one stroke.
Yun (69-70-70=209), a sophomore, capped off a terrific three-day stretch in The Sooner State by posting three straight rounds under par. The West Covina, Calif. native will head back to her home state for a second consecutive year to participate in the Finals. It was Yun's third Top 5 finish of the season.
Wildcat Lauryn Nguyen saved her best for the 'Cats' final round on Tuesday, making five birdies to finish tied for eighth, earning her sixth Top 10 finish of the season.
Hsin Tai Lin, coming off a strong fifth place finish at the Big Ten Championships, kept up her good run of form, shooting a one-over-par 217 (72-67-78), highlighted by her second round five-under 67. She finished tied for 14th, her fifth Top 15 finish this year.
Dianna Lee (74-70-74) and Elise Lee (73-74-71) both finished tied for 17th with a two-over 218. All five 'Cats finished in the Top 20.
Stanford and Northwestern finished 1-2 in four statistical categories: Par 3s, Par 4s, Par 5s, and birdies made. Northwestern led the event with two eagles, with Stanford making one.
