'Cats Fall to No. 15 Notre Dame Tuesday

EVANSTON, Illinois — Northwestern dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 15 Notre Dame Tuesday night at Martin Stadium.
 
The loss drops the Wildcats to 4-5-2 on the campaign, while Notre Dame improved to 6-3-1 on the season. The contest against the 15th-ranked Fighting Irish was Northwestern's third consecutive game against a ranked opponent.
 
Sophomore Spencer Howard earned his first collegiate start of his career and tallied all three of Northwestern's shots.
 
Three different players scored for the Fighting Irish. Thomas Ueland assisted on Paul Rothrock's goal in the 74th minute, while Ian Aschieris (79') and Sean MacLeod (90') each scored unassisted.
 
Miha Miskovic faced 16 shots on the evening and made two saves.
 
The Wildcats jump back into Big Ten play on Saturday, Oct. 6, when Penn State visits Martin Stadium for a 7 p.m.
