ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Snow forced the cancellation of the final round of this year's Big Ten Championships, leaving Northwestern with a fifth-place finish. Ohio State won the championship for a fourth consecutive year.
Two Wildcats were named to the All-Big Ten team: senior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) and Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood), who are not related, were both tabbed second-team selections. Alice, who fired the best third-round score (74) on Saturday, finished in eighth place while Ina placed 14th. The All-Big Ten honors are the first for both players.
The Big Ten also announced its sportsmanship award recipients. Sophomore Heather Scholten (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) received the honor for Northwestern.
Northwestern will now await to learn if it receives a fifth NCAA postseason invite in the last six years. Selections will be announced Monday afternoon.
