EVANSTON, Ill. -- Following a successful start to the season a week ago, Northwestern takes the next step on Saturday with its first set of full-length competitions. The Wildcats will be sending representatives to both the Dartmouth Invitational in New Hampshire as well as the UW-Parkside Midwest Opener in Wisconsin, both scheduled for Saturday morning
At Dartmouth, 12 Wildcats are slated to race in a competitive field that features Georgetown -- which two falls ago captured a national cross country championship -- Syracuse, Brown, Bentley, Keene State and the host Big Green. The women's 6K race will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. CT following the conclusion of the men's 8K competition that precedes it.
Included in the field at Dartmouth for Northwestern is reigning Big Ten Runner of the Week Michelle Moriset, who claimed her first career individual meet title at the Badger Season-Opener a week ago en route to receiving conference honors.
The remainder of head coach April Likhite's squad will be running at the 5K Midwest Opener on the Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Somers, Wis. More than 400 student-athletes from the men's and women's sides are slated to compete, drawing representatives from small colleges and universities across the Midwest. Start time is set for 10 a.m. CT.
Complete results from both meets will be available on NUsports.com following their conclusion.
