    EVANSTON, Ill. -- This fall, all members of the Northwestern and Chicagoland communities are invited to participate in the inaugural Northwestern 5K Race Series hosted by NU Cross Country. The trio of fun 5K races will be held on the scenic path along Lake Michigan on the Northwestern campus, with the starting line located adjacent to NU's Lakeside Field athletic complex.

    Registration is $10 per entrant for each of the three 5K runs, or $25 to register for all three. Entry fee includes a drink coupon at Bluestone (1932 Central Street, Evanston) for the evening of the event and prizes will be awarded to the top male and female participants.

    All races begin at 6:30 p.m. with on-site registration open from 5:45-6:20 p.m. The race series is scheduled for:

    Thursday, Sept. 6
    Tuesday, Sept. 18
    Thursday, Oct. 4

    Participants may take advantage of free parking (after 4 p.m.) in the SPAC lot immediately north of the Lakeside Field athletic complex.

    Download the 5K Race Series registration form and waiver (linked above) and return to Northwestern assistant coach Patricia Loughlin Tormey by emailing to p-loughlin@northwestern.edu. Runners may also bring payment (check or cash), registration form and waiver with them on the day of the event.
