Marquette Invitational -- Complete Results
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Northwestern's trip to Milwaukee for the Marquette Invitational this weekend was a memorable one, with juniors Allegra Mayer and Audrey Huth in particular leaving their mark on the event.
Mayer was the sole Northwestern representative in the 1,500-meter run and walked away with a first-place finish, crossing in 4:41.21 to take more than five seconds off the previous meet record at the Marquette Invite. Mayer's time also marked her own personal record as well as the second-fastest run by a Wildcat this spring.
Northwestern's large contingent of entrants in the 3K was led by Huth's record-setting run of 9:37, which represented the fastest time ever run at the Melvin Shimek Track & Field Facility or the Marquette Invitational, as well as Huth's personal best.
Sophomore Libby Kocha was able to set a personal record as well, finishing second behind Huth in 10:04.00, over nine seconds below her previous best time in the event. Her classmate Lexie Goldsmith was third and just behind Kocha in 10:04.19, while Michelle Moriset took fourth in 10:08.00.
Joining Northwestern at the Marquette Invite were UW-Milwaukee, UIC, the host Golden Eagles, St. Xavier and Illinois Tech.
Earlier in the week, junior Moira Ryan entered unattached into the Olympic Development Women's 10K event at the prestigious Penn Relays, joining elite runners from around the country and recording a time of 37:17.5.
