DePaul Blue Demon Open -- Complete Results

CHICAGO -- Northwestern made its presence known at another Chicagoland track and field event this weekend, entering a handful of competitors at the DePaul Blue Demon Open and claiming top honors in both the 1,500 and 3K events on Saturday.

In the 1,500-meter race, sophomore Rachel Weathered bested the field in a time of 4:40.9. Her freshman teammate Jena Pianin, competing unattached, was second in the race with a time of 4:41.4, as the Wildcat tandem easily distanced themselves from representatives from UIC, Valparaiso and DePaul.

At the 3K distance, Northwestern was represented by seven of the 10 entrants and saw sophomore Elena Barham post the best performance of the day, crossing in 9:58.4 to record the only sub-10-minute time in the field. Camille Blackman nabbed second with her time of 10:10.1 while sophomore Megan O'Brien checked in in third with an effort of 10:12.1.
