    SOMERS, Wis. -- Northwestern placed four runners among the top 15 at the Lucian Rosa Invitational hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday morning, good enough to earn the 'Cats a first-place finish in the team standings out of 25 entered squads. Wisconsin native Elena Barham led all Wildcats finishers by taking seventh place with a 5K time of 18:03.

    Freshman Elena Miller was next to cross the line after Barham to take eighth place in a field of nearly 300 runners, posting a time of 18:11. Sophomores Megan O'Brien (11th, 18:19) and Rachel Weathered (13th, 18:23) also had strong days while freshman Ellen Schmitz finished fifth for the 'Cats and in the top 20 overall with a time of 18:25.7.

     

     

    The Wildcats prevailed in the team standings with a team score of 57, topping second-place Marquette with 78.

    Complete team and individual results from today's meet are linked at the top of the page. Next Saturday, Northwestern's top individual performers will be back in action at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
