The match was originally slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT, but has been pushed back one horu to accomodate other athletic events being hosted on PSU's campus Saturday.

Northwestern has played well away from home this season, amassing 11 wins in neutral and true road contests. The Wildcats have earned a split of every Big Ten road trip this season with key wins coming at Indiana, then-No. 25 Michigan State and, most recently, Wisconsin on Oct. 28.

The last time the 'Cats invaded Rec Hall, they engaged in a memorable battle with the Nittany Lions. For the first time ever, Northwestern pushed the then-four-time-defending National Champions to five sets at Rec Hall. By winning the second set, NU snapped a streak of 17 consecutive sets won by Penn State in the series dating back to 2003. It was also the first time that the Purple-and-White claimed a set in Penn State's gym since 1987 when the Nittany Lions were members of the Atlantic 10 conference.

The 'Cats have faced Penn State once already this season on Oct. 5 at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston. Though the then-No. 1 Nittany Lions won in straight sets, Northwestern played a strong match that featured 12 tie scores and seven lead changes. In sets one and three, Penn State escaped with minimum two-point victories, 25-23.
