EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's volleyball team will participate in four events as part of its 2014 spring schedule, head coach Keylor Chan announced today, March 13. The exhibition matches will all take place between April 5-24.
"We've put together a great spring schedule that will both challenge us and help us prepare for the upcoming fall," said Chan. "The spring season always provides us with a great opportunity to sharpen our skills and begin to implement new ideas for the upcoming year. We're all looking forward to getting it all going again soon."
The Wildcats will open spring play by traveling to Ann Arbor, Mich. for a date with Michigan on Saturday, April 5. The Big Ten foes will go at it inside Cliff Keen Arena in two sessions, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., and again from noon-2 p.m.
On Saturday, April 12, Northwestern will host Illinois State, Loyola and Milwaukee in a one-day tournament at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The hosts begin play at 10 a.m. vs. ISU before taking on the reigning Horizon League champions, UWM, at 11 a.m. After a break for lunch, the tournament concludes against crosstown rival Loyola at 1:15 p.m.
The home tournament will feature three-set matches with the first two to 25 points and the third to 15.
