Scott Leserman enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Northwestern Wildcats in 2013.

With Leserman on the bench, the Wildcats raced out to the best start in program history in 2012. NU won its first 11 matches of the season with the winning streak becoming the longest since 1983. The 'Cats also won 11 matches away from home in 2012, including victories over NCAA Tournament-bound teams Bowling Green, Marquette, New Mexico State, Yale and Michigan State. That is the most road or neutral-site triumphs for any Northwestern team since 1990.

The 2012 Wildcats put up some of the most efficient attacking numbers in program history under Jensen's tutelage. Northwestern finished the season with only 597 hitting errors, the fewest total ever and the first time ever below 600. The 'Cats attacked at a clip of .218 during the campaign, the fifth-highest rate ever.

Leserman spent the 2011 campaign as an assistant under head coach Chris Muscat at Loyola. Under Leserman's tutelage, Rambler Laura Purcell led the team in kills and was named to the All-Horizon League Newcomer Team. The Loyola volleyball team also had one student-athlete named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team.

Prior to coming up to Chicago, Leserman spent two seasons in downstate Champaign, Ill. as a graduate manager and volunteer assistant coach for Illinois under Kevin Hambly. There, he gained valuable experience in the areas of scouting, film exchange and training in practice sessions. In 2010, the Manhattan Beach, Calif., native helped guide the Fighting Illini to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Texas in a five-set thriller that round.

Leserman had a wildly successful four-year run as a student-athlete at Vassar College prior to entering the coaching ranks. A three-year captain, he helped the Brewers to a second-place finish in NCAA Division III tournament in 2008, the Molten Invitational Tournament. Leserman, whose name is scattered throughout the record book at Vassar, led Division III in digs per set as a senior and achieved American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Second Team All-America status.

Leserman graduated from Vassar with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2009. In 2010, the Californian earned a Master's in Sport Management from Illinois.
