Northwestern University is excited about the opportunity to host a 2010 NCAA Women's Tennis Regional Championship, and is looking forward to a terrific weekend of tennis! MEDIA INFORMATION
Credential Requests
All credential requests should be directed to the Northwestern Athletic Communications office. Members of the media need to fax (847-491-8818) in a request on letterhead by Wednesday, May 12. Scott Hammer, NU's tennis contact, will be in charge of all credential requests. Feel free to contact him with questions at (847) 491-8800 or by e-mail at hammer@northwestern.edu.
Player Interviews
Following each match and immediately after a 10-minute cooling-off period, an interview area will open to all certified members of the media. Any coach and student-athletes requested by the media will be available for interviews. The interview area for the tournament will be near the practice courts (unless otherwise noted). Each coach and student-athlete will be escorted to the interview area by a member of the Northwestern Athletic Communications staff. Quotes from members of the winning team of each match will be available on this page after the competition.
Hospitality and Media Center
There will be a hospitality tent set up for tournament personnel and media. Media notes, media guides and other information will be made available in the media center (in the pro shop at Vandy Christie Tennis Center and in the conference room at Combe Tennis Center). After each day, complete results will be available to the working media.
CONCESSIONS AND MERCHANDISE
There will be concessions available each day of the 2010 NCAA Regional Championship. There also will be T-Shirts and other apparel available for purchase throughout the weekend.
Admission each day will be $7 for adults, $4 for children under 18, college students with I.D. and senior citizens over 55.
DIRECTIONS
Directions to the Vandy Christie Tennis Center
From Chicago: Take Lake Shore Drive north until it ends and merges with Sheridan Road. Take Sheridan north through Evanston (follow the signs as Sheridan winds through south Evanston) until you reach the Northwestern campus. The Vandy Christie Tennis Center will appear on your left as you drive on Sheridan through campus.
From the north: Take I-94 (Edens) East. Exit on Skokie Blvd. and turn left at stop light at Lake Avenue. Go east on Lake to Green Bay Road. Turn right and proceed south to Central Street. Turn left and go east until Central Street ends. Take a right onto Sheridan Road. The Vandy Christie Tennis Center will appear on your right as you drive on Sheridan through campus.
From O'Hare International Airport: Exit the airport and take I-294 North. Exit on Dempster Street east and proceed several miles until you reach Chicago Avenue in Evanston. Turn left, and proceed north until Chicago merges with Sheridan Road at the arch representing the Northwestern campus. The Vandy Christie Tennis Center will appear on your left as you drive north on Sheridan through campus.
Directions to the Combe Tennis Center (inclement weather site)
From Chicago: Take Lake Shore Drive north until it ends and merges with Sheridan Road. Take Sheridan north through Evanston (follow the signs as heridan winds through south Evanston). At the northern end of campus, take a right onto Lincoln Street. After a sharp right turn, you will see the Sports Pavilion and Aquatics Center (SPAC) - which houses the Combe Indoor Tennis Center - on your left. Parking is on the right.

PARKING
Parking for spectators will be behind Elder Hall (and the university buildings that face Lincoln St.). During the competition on Friday and Saturday, the lot just north of the courts (across Colfax St.) is available and should be sufficient for all spectators. Street parking also is available on the streets (Lincoln, Orrington and Milburn) surrounding Long Field, which is located one block north of the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. Please keep in mind that it is two-hour parking on the street.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Combe Indoor Tennis Center. Parking on Friday is available at the lot just north of the outdoor courts (across Colfax St.). Parking in front of Combe is available on Saturday only. Additional parking is located on the streets surrounding Long Field, only four blocks away. Please keep in mind that it is two-hour parking on the street.
