    Wildcats Sign Talented Trio to National Letters of Intent

    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head women's tennis coach Claire Pollard has announced the signing of Alex Chatt (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township), Rheeya Doshi (Singapore/Laurel Springs (Calif.) School) and Erin Larner (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) to National Letters of Intent to join the Wildcats for the 2014-15 school year.

    "We are thrilled with the signing of Alex, Erin and Rheeya," Pollard said. "They each will bring enthusiasm, energy and a great skill set with them. We are looking forward to the great impact they will have on the program."

    Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township

    High School: Ranked No. 38 nationally, No. 6 regionally and No. 2 in Illinois by ... Reached as high as No. 9 according to USTA National G16s rankings ... Purdue ITA finalist ... Notre Dame ITA finalist and doubles champion with current Wildcat Nida Hamilton ... G18s USTA May National Doubles finalist ... G16s USTA Winter Nationals fourth place in 2012 ... Member of GB14s and GB12s Davis Team Cup champions ... G16s USTA November National Open Singles and Doubles champions ... USTA July National Open Doubles champion at both G16s and G14s ... Posted a high school career record of 115-12 ... High school All-American ... All-state ... All-conference ... Finished second at state meet as a sophomore and third as both a junior and senior ... Three-time MVP ... Team captain ... Honor roll student.

    Personal: Born Alexandria Grazina Chatt on 9/28/96 ... Daughter of William and Grazina Chatt ... Mother was an accomplished high school badminton player ... Maternal grandmother played volleyball on USSR team.

    Pollard on Chatt: "Alex brings a feisty intense attitude to our program. Her game is built around her competitiveness and her willingness to do whatever it takes on the court. She will be fun to coach and a great teammate to play with."



    Rheeya Doshi
    Singapore/Laurel Springs (Calif.) School

    High School: Top-ranked female in Singapore ... Represented Singapore in Junior Fed Cup and currently representing Singapore in the Fed Cup ... Won five doubles ITF titles, including three in Mauritius, one in Brunei and one in Thailand ... Reached the finals in two other events, in Sri Lanka and Thailand ... Finished as singles runner-up in two ITF competitions, in Bangladesh and Mauritius.

    Personal: Born Rheeya Divyesh Doshi on 4/24/96 ... Daughter of Divyesh and Anita Doshi.

    Pollard on Doshi: "Rheeya brings a raw athleticism that makes her a phenomenal mover around the court. She is just starting to put all the pieces of her game together and will be a force to be reckoned with once she gets the necessary competitive experience she needs."

    Erin Larner
    Portland, Ore./Jesuit

    High School: Ranked No. 36 nationally, No. 1 in Oregon and No. 1 in the Northwest according to ... First-team all-state selection ... Oregon state champion each of her first three prep seasons, going undefeated each year ... Team captain ... 2012 Oregon prep tennis player of the year ... Three-time team MVP ... Won a golden match during junior season, not allowing a single point to her opponent the entire match ... Helped Jesuit High to a first-place team finish as a sophomore and second-place finishes as a freshman and junior ... First-team All-Metro ... 2013 ITF Claremont doubles champion ... Reached round of 16 at 2013 G18s Clay Courts ... Won G18s November regional endorsement singles and doubles ... National Honor Society member ... Honor roll student ... All-Academic Athlete.

    Personal: Born Erin Kathleen Larner on 3/12/96 ... Daughter of Corey and Ginny Larner ... Mother ran track at UC Santa Barbara ... Great grandfather played tennis at Notre Dame.

    Pollard on Larner: "Erin is an all-court player will a special ability to come forward. She volleys and reads the game at the net as well as anyone I have ever coached. With her skill set, she will be a great player in singles and doubles."
