    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head women's tennis coach Claire Pollard has announced the signing of Brooke Rischbieth to join the Wildcats for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

    Rischbieth joins a talented recruiting class that was ranked No. 3 in the nation by TennisRecruiting.net prior to her signing.

    "Brooke rounds off a spectacular class," Pollard said. "She will be an asset to us with her all-round game, her endless energy and her passion for playing on a team."

    Rischbieth joins Jillian Rooney, Maddie Lipp and Manon Peri in Northwestern's stellar recruiting class.

    Northwestern posted a 20-9 dual match record during the recently completed season. The Wildcats advanced to the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament for the 10th straight season and claimed a Big Ten title for the 15th consecutive year while finishing with a No. 12 team ranking.

    High school: Ranked No. 1 female in the state of South Australia... Member of the 2011 winning Junior Fed Cup team representing Australia... Won eight Junior International Tennis Federation doubles titles and five Australian Championships doubles titles... Doubles finalist in 2011 at the Pro Circuit Alice Springs and Landisville ... Two-time singles Junior International finalist ... member of the All-Australian team ... Scored in the top 5 percent of year 12 students in Australia on year 12 exams.
