EVANSTON, Ill. - Draws for this week's 2013 NCAA Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championship in Urbana, Ill., have been announced.

Northwestern is being represented in both tournaments at Atkins Tennis Center. Senior Kate Turvy will compete in singles competition for the second straight year, while senior Linda Abu Mushrefova will take the courts with junior Nida Hamilton in doubles action for the third consecutive season.

Turvy will take on the tournament's No. 6 seed, Lauren Herring of Georgia, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in an opening-round matchup. The winner will take on the victor of the match between Notre Dame's Brittany Sanders and USC's Zoe Scandalis on Thursday.

Action continues each of next four days, concluding with the championship match on Monday, May 27.

Turvy fell to the defending NCAA singles champion, Jana Juricova of California, in the first round last season.

In doubles play, Hamilton and Mushrefova also face a tough draw as they'll square off against the second-seeded team of Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria of USC in Thursday's first round. Match time is to be announced Wednesday evening.

The winner advances to Friday's round of 16 against the winner of the match between Kanyapat Narattana and Malika Rose of Oklahoma State and Augustina Eskenazi and Sonya Latycheva of Pennsylvania.

Doubles play continues each day until the championship match on May 27.

Hamilton and Mushrefova earned All-America status in 2011 by advancing to the quarterfinal round before falling in the opening round a year ago.

Both singles and doubles are played in a best-of-three set format.
