Northwestern Women's Tennis Wins Third in a Row
EVANSTON, Ill. - The Wildcat women's team, ranked 22nd nationally, won their third-straight dual match with a 7-2 victory over Illinois-Chicago. The 'Cats swept five singles matches and two doubles matches en routed to the win.
The freshman duo of Shannon Duffy and Colleen Cheng were double winners on the weekend. At the No. 1 spot, Duffy defeated Sara Jackson (1-0, ret.). Cheng, playing at No. singles, took a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Serena Xie (6-3, 6-2). That duo also won at the No. doubles spot. Junior Laura Guignon (No. 3 singles) and sophomore Jennifer Lutgert (No. 5 singles) also were double winners.
