    Northwestern's Laura Guignon And Katherine Nasser Win Doubles Title at Rolex Region IV Championship

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior Laura Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) and sophomore Katherine Nasser (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) captured the doubles title at the Rolex Region IV Championship in Madison. Wis., today. Nasser was the runner-up in the singles bracket.

    Sixth-seeded Guignon and Nasser posted a 4-0 record to advance to the finals. The duo then defeated unseeded Tracy Zobrist and Marjon Copier of Wisconsin, 6-4, 7-5, in the championship match.

    Nasser tallied a 5-0 singles record before falling to Michelle Dasso of Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-3, in the championship match. On her way to the finals, Nasser upended two seeded players, fifth-seeded Marisa Velasco of Notre Dame (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) and seventh-seeded Nora Sauska of Minnesota (6-3, 6-2). Wildcat freshman Colleen Cheng (Hillsborough, Calif./Burlingame) was the runner-up in the singles back draw of the tournament.
