EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fourth-seeded Maria Mosolova's run at the ITA National Indoor Singles Championships came to an end in the semifinals Saturday with a loss to the tournament's No. 2 seed, Ani Mijacika of Clemson, 7-6, 6-4. After completing a challenging fall slate, Northwestern is now off from competition until it begins its spring schedule on Jan. 16 when it hosts the Wildcat Invitational.

With the loss, Mosolova finishes her fall season with an 11-2 mark in singles play and two tournament wins. Junior Samantha Murray wrapped up the fall with a 13-5 record and an ITA Midwest Regional singles championship under her belt.

Head coach Claire Pollard, who has led Northwestern to a Big Ten record 10 consecutive league titles, has now coached one of her players to a Midwest Regional title in nine straight seasons.

Georgia Rose, the preseason No. 11 singles player in the nation, has compiled a 6-3 singles mark thus far.

Also beginning Jan. 16, select members of the NU tennis team will compete at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.
