TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Linda Abu Mushrefova won her singles draw and teamed with Nida Hamilton to win their draw in doubles to lead the Northwestern contingent on the final day of competition at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic on Saturday.

Abu Mushrefova rallied back from a set down to defeat Tristen Dewar of Clemson in the championship match of the Blue Draw, winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. She also paired up with Hamilton to defeat the Woodard/Kurey team from Georgia Tech 8-5 in the championship match of the Black Draw. They had advanced to the final by defeating the Altick/Sellyn team from Vanderbilt 8-5 in the semifinals.

NU's other two doubles teams both settled for fourth-place finishes. Belinda Niu and Alicia Barnett barely missed out on a spot in the championship match, falling 9-7 to the team of Flickinger/Schippers from Auburn in the semis. They then fell to the Alabama squad of Zabor and Maynetto 8-3 in the third-place match.

Veronica Corning and Anna Livadaru also suffered a pair of close defeats, falling 8-6 to Ravita/Lewis from Kentucky in the semis and then 9-7 to the UAB team of Faught/Lowther in the third-place matchup.

In other singles action, Hamilton earned a third-place finish in the Purple Draw as she posted a 7-5, 6-2 win over Georgia Tech's Megan Kurey. Alicia Barnett won the consolation final of her draw, knocking off Rachel Daniel of UAB in a tight match, 7-5, 7-6. Belinda Niu fell in her match on the day, 6-4, 7-5 to Alexandra Perper of Mississippi State.
