    Complete Results from Day One of Furman Invite

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern completed the first day of its fall schedule at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C. on Friday. Junior Samantha Murray and senior Keri Robison advanced to the finals of the second flight of the doubles tournament where they met and topped a pair of fellow Wildcats, sophomore Maria Mosolova and freshman Elena Chernyakova, 9-7.

    In the first flight of the doubles draw, the Northwestern duo of junior Lauren Lui and senior Georgia Rose won two of their three matches to claim fifth place.

    Singles play at the Furman Invitational gets underway Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Chernyakova will take on No. 40 Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt in flight one, while Mosolova, ranked No. 6 in the nation, begins play against Natasa Vuckovic of South Carolina in the second flight and Rose, No. 11 in the ITA singles rankings, will take on Ina Hadziselimovic of Clemson.
