    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern rolled to a 7-0 victory over Penn State on Sunday at the Combe Tennis Center, keeping the Wildcats undefeated all-time against the Nittany Lions. NU has recorded three shutouts in five Big Ten matches this season.

    A pair of Northwestern freshmen cruised to victory on Sunday, sparking the `Cats to their fifth conference win in as many tries. Jillian Rooney won handily over Lisa Petruzillo at No. 5 by a 6-0, 6-0 score to snap a two-match skid. Maddie Lipp followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win of her own over Emily Rivers at No. 6 to earn the first Big Ten win of her young career.

    Nida Hamilton continued her hot streak on Sunday, taking down Taylor Shukow 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot. Hamilton has won all nine matches she has played in 2014.

    The remaining three matches resulted in more of the same for Northwestern. Belinda Niu won her team-leading 11th match, beating Katia Blik at No. 2 by a 6-2, 6-1 score. Veronica Corning snapped a three-match losing streak, battling through a second set tie-breaker to defeat Dasha Sapogova, 6-1, 7-6 (4). Manon Peri made it a clean sweep for the `Cats, finishing the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Carmen Sandor.

    The Wildcats made quick work of Penn State in doubles play. Niu and Peri won in dominant fashion at the No. 3 spot, dismantling Taylor Shukow and Lisa Petruzillo by an 8-0 score. Corning and Alicia Barnett clinched the doubles point for NU when they beat Dasha Sapogova and Katia Blik, 8-2 at No. 1.

    Northwestern embarks on a road-trip to the state of Michigan next weekend. NU will face conference nemesis Michigan on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. in Ann Arbor and then travel to play Michigan State in East Lansing on Sunday at 10 a.m.
