EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Felicitas Lenz (Altadena, Calif./Polytechnic) competed in German Nationals over the weekend, earning a place on her native country's World University Games squad for the 27th staging of the Summer Universiade July 6-17, 2013, in Kazan, Russia.

Lenz previously competed for Germany at the 2011 World University Games while wearing her NU suit, taking 10th in the 3-meter event and 16th on the 10-meter platform. She will be competing in 2013 against her own Northwestern coach, Alik Sarkisian, who is the head diving coach for the United States delegation to the Games.

Lenz concluded her career at NU as a 2012 All-Big Ten performer on the platform and a two-time medalist in the event at the Big Ten Championships after finishing second in 2012 and third in 2013. She was a four-time NCAA Zone qualifier who recovered from an injury in the fall of 2012 to return to the team and lead the Wildcats as a senior with scoring performances on all three boards at the Big Ten meet.

Lenz will graduate from Northwestern this month with a degree in German.
