CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Following intense training sessions during the Wildcats' annual holiday training trip, Northwestern defeated both N.C. State and the University of Miami Friday afternoon in Coral Gables, Fla.

The 'Cats prevailed 108-54 against the Hurricanes and 108-66 over the Wolfpack. Northwestern's record improves to 4-3 on the season with the victories.

In a meet packed with non-traditional relays, Northwestern came out on top in all 12 events. Twelve Wildcats swam on first-place squads in the meet.

"We have worked the girls very hard during this trip, and they responded and competed very well today," NU head coach Jimmy Tierney said. "We are proud of the work the team has done so far."

The meet is the only scheduled competition during NU's holiday trip to Florida.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Jan. 7, at Tennessee. Before that, the NU divers will take to the air Saturday, Dec. 23, at Hawaii.
