    Freshman Abruzzo Competes in Day 2 of NCAA Championships

    MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – One day after making her debut at NCAA Championships, Northwestern freshman Lauren Abruzzo continued her competition swimming in the 400 yard IM Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. 

    The freshman from Kent Denver School in Denver, Colo. posted a time of 4:24.25 in the 400 yard IM, finishing No. 51 in the field.

    Her top time in the 400 IM was 4:18.26, the second fastest time of the season swam by a Northwestern swimmer.

    The long distance specialist and No. 4 finisher at the Big Ten Championships in the 1,650 free will swim in that even Saturday at 4:30 p.m. CT.

    The NCAA Championships continue in Minneapolis Saturday with events in the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay. The trials begin at 11:00 a.m.
