AUBURN, Ala. -- Junior Taylor Reynolds (St. Louis, Mo./Webster) swam the first NCAA Championships race of her career Thursday at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center, opening Northwestern's 2012 NCAA Championships schedule with the first of her two events.
Swimming out of lane 8 in the seventh heat of nine, Reynolds turned in a 50 free time of 22.64 to place 36th overall in the event. She now will have Friday off before returning to compete in the 100 free Saturday.
Teammate Jenny Wilson (Bethesda, Md./Sidwell Friends School) starts her NCAA Championships Friday in the 100 breast, then enters the pool for the 200 breast on Saturday.
