EVANSTON, Ill. -- Led by first-team selection Brianna LeBeau (Worth, Ill./H.L. Richards) at second base, five Wildcats have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region team, announced by the NFCA.

In addition to LeBeau, sophomore pitcher Kristen Wood (Trevor, Wis./Wilmot Union), senior outfielder Emily Allard (Antioch, Calif./Deer Valley) and sophomore "DP/Utility Non-Pitcher" Andrea Filler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) were elected to the second team while outfielder Andrea DiPrima (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) picked up a third-team nod.

LeBeau has led Northwestern at the plate during a breakout offensive season, batting .394 with a team-best 10 home runs and 20 total extra base hits after not hitting a single round-tripper during her freshman campaign. She also ranks among the nation's leaders in respect (quantified in hit by pitches, of which she has 16) to have an-over .500 on-base percentage.

Wood has emerged as Northwestern's ace in the circle after a season-ending injury to 2013 All-Region selection Amy Letourneau, stepping up to the tune of 18 wins and 215 strikeouts. Wood ranks 18th in the nation with 8.9 Ks per seven innings and has two no-hitters on the year.

Allard earns her first All-Region honor in the outfield after winning two as a shortstop in 2010-11. Allard ranks second for NU this year with a .383 batting average while ranking among the nation's leaders with 32 steals and 47 runs scored. She is two hits shy of 300 for her career and ranks 21st in NCAA Division I history with 149 stolen bases.

Filler is an All-Region honoree in her first season with Northwestern after transferring from Boston College last year. She played the majority of NU's games at designated player while also appearing 16 times at first base. Filler began the year as the Big Ten Player of the Week after reaching base in her first 11 plate appearances of the year, then later had hits in eight-straight at-bats to tie the school record set by Adrienne Monka in 2009. Filler has a .343 average and leads the team with 12 doubles.

DiPrima's award is the first of her career after batting .377 with 11 doubles largely from the cleanup spot in the lineup. She also walked 27 times to give her an on-base percentage of .488.
