EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 8 Northwestern's final four Big Ten contests will take place this weekend at Sharon J. Drysdale Field when Iowa and Illinois come to town.

The Wildcats will kick off Senior Weekend with a 4 p.m. CT matchup Friday, April 27, against the Hawkeyes before facing them again at noon CT Saturday, April 28. Northwestern's inaugural PURPLE AUCTION will immediately follow Saturday's game. Illinois then comes to town for a noon CT doubleheader on Sunday, April 29.

Northwestern enters this weekend with an 11-3 (.786) Big Ten record, but is in third place in the conference standings behind Ohio State and Michigan (both 8-2, .800). Because of weather cancellations around the league this year, OSU and UM will not play each other this year. Every team in the Big Ten with the exception of Indiana has had at least two games canceled due to weather this year, and the Big Ten champion is determined by winning percentage.

Two seniors enter Senior Weekend on the verge of huge career milestones. Senior Eileen Canney (Paradise, Calif./Paradise) will reach 1,000 strikeouts with her first whiff of the weekend, and senior Garland Cooper (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) has tied the Big Ten career record for home runs (51), needing one to own the mark outright.

Senior Katie Logan (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) currently ranks second on the team with a .383 batting average, 45 runs scored, 62 hits and 12 steals. Her stolen base total is the best of her career.

Senior Jessica Miller (Elberfeld, Ind./Techumseh) comes into the weekend on a tear, batting .375 in the last week to rank second on the squad in that time frame.

After this weekend, NU concludes its regular season with a home doubleheader May 3 against No. 15 DePaul.
