EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern softball will host a free clinic in conjunction with National Pro Fastpitch's Chicago Bandits at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, before NU hosts Ohio State in B1G softball action at Sharon J. Drysdale Field.

The clinic will feature four-time Northwestern All-American and 2009 NPF Rookie and Defensive Player of the Year Tammy Williams along with her Chicago Bandit teammate and DePaul graduate Amber Patton. The Bandits are coming off an NPF World Championship season in 2011, the second in the franchise's history.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the clinic will run for one hour from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All participants then will be invited onto the field for pregame introductions prior to the 1 p.m. first pitch of the Wildcats' game against the Buckeyes.

The clinic is open to all girls in grades first through eighth and will be split by age group to learn fundamentals and perform drills on the grass football practice field north of Sharon J. Drysdale Field. All registrants will receive a free Wildcats' hat in addition to being able to attend Northwestern's annual spring N Club-sponsored Wildcat Alley, which will feature games, free t-shirts, face painters and more.
