When Northwestern host Iowa at Sharon J. Drysdale Field April 12-14, the Wildcats will be wearing helmet stickers in honor of 2006 NU graduate Jamie Dotson Cruz's son, Dylan, and to raise awareness of Angelman syndrome, a neuro-genetic disorder characterized by severe developmental delay, speech difficulties, seizure disorders and more. People with AS are sometimes known as "angels", both because of the syndrome's name and because of their youthful, happy appearance.
Then, during the weekend of April 26-28 when Purdue is in town, Northwestern softball will join in the Donate Life Northwestern Campaign, which is aimed at increasing the number of individuals on the Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Registry.
