Game Notes  NU's Nebraska Series Game Notes

EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 23 Northwestern welcomes No. 19 Nebraska to Chicago this weekend for a matchup of B1G and national powers. In addition to their rankings, Nebraska is No. 9 and NU is No. 22 in the first NCAA RPI data of the 2014 season.

This series, as with most for teams across the country during this wacky weather spring, has been adjusted from its original schedule and location. Game one will start at 11:30 a.m. CT Friday, March 28, at the Ballpark at Rosemont, home of the NPF Chicago Bandits. Game two will be at 4 p.m. CT Saturday, March 29, in Rosemont. Game three will be at 1 p.m. CT Sunday, March 30, at Sharon J. Drysdale Field in Evanston.

Nebraska brings a 21-10 overall record into this weekend and is 1-2 in the Big Ten after facing No. 15 Minnesota last week. NU took a series against Wisconsin to open B1G play and is 18-6 overall, 2-1 in the league.

Northwestern's offense has continued to shine all season long; the Wildcats currently rank fourth in the country with a .344 batting average and sixth with 7.21 runs per game. Nebraska's pitching has been strong this year, limiting foes to a .210 average. These numbers are impressive on both sides because each program takes a similar approach to scheduling, facing the toughest possible nonconference slate.

Because of the game time adjustments, Northwestern will not have home live audio available for Friday's game. Instead, we will link you to Nebraska's broadcast featuring true pro Nate Rohr on the call. Games two and three in the series will feature home live audio with a combination of WNUR alumni Greg Bobak, Frank Tormey and Dan Platt making their second-straight weekend of guest audio appearances.
