EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's opening home series of the 2014 season will be played Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23, at The Ballpark at Rosemont in Rosemont, Ill., with modified game times.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will host Wisconsin at the home of National Pro Fastpitch's Chicago Bandits in a 4 p.m. CT game Saturday and a noon CT doubleheader Sunday. The series was originally scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Evanston, but the artificial turf at the Ballpark at Rosemont offers a better surface for play as winter turns to spring.
Northwestern currently is ranked No. 25 in the country after a 15-5 preconference schedule. The exciting Wildcats have one of the nation's top-10 offenses, entering this weekend averaging 7.15 runs per game.
Group tickets for Northwestern softball are available now by calling 888-GO-PURPLE (467-8775) or by contacting Joe Thuente at email@example.com or 847-467-6862. Single-game tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for youth/seniors and $3 for groups of 15 or more. Adult/youth tickets also will be available at the gate in Rosemont.
The Ballpark at Rosemont is located at 27 Jennie Finch Way, 60018, at the corner of Balmoral and Pearl Streets. Many former Wildcats have played at the park after continuing their careers in the NPF upon graduation: Tammy Williams, Eileen Canney, Nicole Pauly, Robin Thompson and Adrienne Monka. Williams recently re-signed with the Chicago Bandits for her fifth NPF season in 2014.
