EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern softball team split a doubleheader with Ohio State Saturday at Anderson Field, winning game one, 4-0, and falling in game two, 4-3. NU is now 33-17 overall, 14-9 in the Big Ten. NU got things started in the first inning of game one as Mikie Chambers scored on a Brooke Siebel triple to make it 1-0. The 'Cats got a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to close the scoring. Jackie DeBoard tossed six shutout innings of one-hit ball, improving her record to 23-5. Brooke Siebel tossed the final inning to close out the Buckeyes. Chambers, Siebel and Lindsey Prezell each had two hits.

The 'Cats came from behind twice in game two, tying it 1-1 in the top of the fourth and then again at 3-3 in the sixth, courtesy of Kyla Hattabaugh's fifth homer of the season. Ohio State plated a run in the bottom of the sixth, though, to take the win.
