    Softball Loses Two at Minnesota

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern softball team lost back-to-back games for the first time this season after falling to Minnesota, 11-1 and 10-4, in a doubleheader Wednesday in Minneapolis. NU is now 22-11 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten.

    After dropping game one, 11-1, NU came out of the gate strong in game two, taking a 4-0 lead after three innings. Minnesota rallied for six runs in the fourth, all with two out, and added four more in the sixth to seal the win. Brooke Siebel was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Amanda Peterson, Kyla Hattabaugh and Mikie Chambers each added two hits.

    NU returns to action this Saturday and Sunday when they host Penn State for a three-game series at Anderson Field. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 1 p.m. and Sunday's single game will get underway at noon.
