    Northwestern Softball Completes Weekend Sweep of Indiana

    NU Now 5-1 in Big Ten Play

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern softball team completed a three-game sweep of the Indiana Hoosiers with a 6-2 win Sunday at Anderson Field. NU improves to 22-9 overall, 5-1 in the Big Ten.

    As was the case all weekend, pitching and defense were the keys to the game. Brooke Siebel and Jenni Beseres combined to give up just one earned run, the first NU has given up in its last five games. Siebel improved to 6-3 on the year with the win. Indiana committed four errors that led to four unearned runs. Kyla Hattabaugh was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jill Nesbitt and Amanda Peterson each had two hits. Nesbitt played her 43rd-straight game without an error, dating back to last season. She now has 228-consecutive chances without an error.

    The 'Cats are back in action this Wed., April 8, when they travel to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Goldern Gophers in a 2 p.m. doubleheader. NU is back at home next weekend when they host the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday and Sunday.
