    Northwestern Softball Splits Doubleheader

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern softball team split a doubleheader with Southeast Missouri yesterday, winning game one, 6-2, before falling in the nightcap, 3-1.

    Jaclyn DeBoard picked up the win in game one with six scoreless innings. She improves to 9-1 on the year and lowers her ERA to just 0.62. Jenn Shull led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance, including four RBIs. Mikeal Chambers picked up two RBIs. Lindsey Prezell was 2-for-3 in the second game, but it wasn't enough for the 'Cats.

    NU is now 13-6 on the year and plays Butler and Evansville in Evansville today before travelling to Charleston, Ill. to take on Eastern Illinois and Indiana State tomorrow. They open Big Ten play with a three-game series at Purdue this Saturday and Sunday.
