    Softball Coach Sharon Drysdale Picks Up 600th Career Victory

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern softball coach Sharon Drysdale picked up her 600th career victory in a 4-3 win over Santa Clara last Saturday at the Santa Clara Invitational. She added two more wins on the weekend to push her 23-year career mark to 602-427-3.

    Drysdale is in her 20th year as head coach of the Northwestern program, compiling a 538-416-3 record over that span. She was named Big Ten Coach of the Year three times (1984, '87 and '95) and led her teams to three-consecutive College World Series appearances from 1984-86. Under her guidance, NU has put together 10 30-win seasons, including six in a row from 1982-87. In 1994, following her 500th career win, she was inducted into the National Softball Coaches Association's (NSCA) Hall of Fame.
