EVANSTON, Ill. -- After playing three Big Ten games on the road to start the conference season, Northwestern returns to Lakeside Field this weekend to host Purdue and Indiana. The Boilermakers come to town for a 7 p.m. Friday game while Indiana visits at 1 p.m. Sunday.

    ’Cats Clinic Sunday
Fans are encouraged to stick around after Sunday’s game against Indiana as Northwestern will host a FREE ’Cats Clinic for girls in the 8th grade and under. Clinic participants will learn different soccer skills from the NU women’s team. No registration is required but participants should bring their own soccer cleats to the clinic. Questions about the ’Cats Clinic can be emailed to wildcatmarketing@northwestern.edu.

    Home, Sweet Home
After beginning the Big Ten Conference season with three-straight road games, and playing six of seven overall on the road, Northwestern will have plenty of time at Lakeside Field to end the season. NU plays six of its final eight matches at home and then hosts the Big Ten Tournament Nov. 2-6.

    Scouting the Boilermakers
Purdue is 3-7-2 overall and 0-2-1 in Big Ten play. The Boilers tied with Iowa (1-1) Sunday in West Lafayette. Purdue tops the Big Ten in saves (71 total in 12 games) and goalkeeper Clara Kridler is second in the conference with 5.58 saves per game. Offensively, Alex Hariston leads Purdue with five goals and 12 points on the season.

    Last Time vs. the Boilermakers
Northwestern visited West Lafayette last season and after 83 scoreless minutes, Purdue’s Jessica Warren scored on a rebound late in the second half, giving the Boilermakers the 1-0 victory. Kate Allen (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) had two of the Wildcats’ eight shots in the game.

    Scouting the Hoosiers
Indiana is 5-5-1 on the season and 1-2-0 in Big Ten play so far this season. The Hoosiers broke a three-game skid, defeating Nebraska 2-1 at home on Sunday. Three Indiana players, including Orlanica Velasquez, Lisa Nouanesengsy, and Carly Samp, have at least four goals and 10 points. The Hoosiers lead the Big Ten in corner kicks, averaging 7.09 per game.

    Last Time vs. the Hoosiers
    Jill Dunn
(Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) scored her first career goal in the second half to lift Northwestern to a 2-1 victory over Indiana in Bloomington. Kate Allen set a school record with her first-half goal. After Indiana’s Leigh Anne Cummings scored off a corner kick at the 10:53 mark, Allen answered with her goal just 16 seconds later (a school record). NU holds the 9-7-2 advantage all-time against Indiana.
