EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern wraps up its four-match road swing Thursday night, playing at Valparaiso. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Brown Field and Thursday's game marks the final nonconference road match for the 'Cats.
Here's a few notables heading into Thursday's match:
• Three different Wildcats have scored goals this year, including two that have netted their first career goals. Junior forward Katie Landgrebe scored a second-half against Northeastern on Friday, which was her first career goal, and helped the 'Cats come back to earn the 1-1 tie. Sophomore forward Suzanne Malherbe also scored her first career goal in the 2013 opener and senior midfielder Julie Sierks tallied her second career goal against Notre Dame.
• Senior forward Kate Allen continues to add to her career point total at Northwestern. On Friday at Northeastern, she assisted on Landgrebe's goal, tallying her first point of the season and 42nd career point. Allen continues to rank 10th in NU history for career points and two more would tie her for ninth all-time with Ashleigh Garmon (44, 2001-04).
• A pair of freshmen made their first career starts over the weekend in Boston. Kaitlin Moore made her first career start at Northeastern and was in the starting lineup again Sunday at Boston University. Jenna Hascher covered the net as the starting goalkeeper in Sunday's match vs. BU. Prior to Sunday's start, Hascher had played 96 minutes in net and did not allow a goal during that span.
• Northwestern is 4-0 all-time against Valparaiso. These two teams have not met since 2005, a 2-0 NU victory in Evanston. This is just the second time NU has played Valpo on the road.
