    Feb. 5, 2014

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head women's soccer coach Michael Moynihan and his staff announced today (Feb. 5) that eight individuals will join the NU women's soccer team for the 2014 campaign. The eight future Wildcats include Lauren Clem (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore High School), Maria Fayeulle (Niwot, Colo./Niwot High School), Kassidy Gorman (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic High School), Mackenzie Howe (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake High School), Kim Jerantowski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont High School), Michelle Manning (Novi, Mich./Detroit Country Day School), Grace Orndorff (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) and Nikia Smith (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook High School).

"We are extremely excited about our incoming class for 2014," Moynihan said. "It is a talented group of individuals, each with winning mentalities and proven track records of success. Every player in this class has the ability to contribute immediately and we have added quality people and quality players at every position.

"This class will increase our team speed and overall athleticism and they all have the technical ability and soccer savvy to play attractive and intelligent soccer. Players like Michelle, Kassidy and Mackenzie have all played at the highest club level in the extremely competitive ECNL and that experience will be a valuable asset to our program. We also add three players (Kim, Nikia and Maria) that all featured as key performers on National Championship US Club teams.

"In this class, I also see a hunger. Though they have all experienced success, they are all eager to continue growing in the game and have a passion for soccer. They are thrilled at the challenges the Big Ten presents and they are even more thrilled to be Wildcats representing Northwestern University. We can't wait to bring this new group into the mix with our returning players and forge a highly-competitive unit for next fall."
