EVANSTON, Ill. -- In honor of the 40th anniversary of the passing of the Title IX legislation, the National Association of Collegiate Women's Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) is sponsoring a contest to celebrate a trailblazer who has made significant contributions to gender equity. A winner will be selected from a list of 25 entrants from schools and conferences across the country, including Northwestern's six-time NCAA championship-winning women's lacrosse coach Kelly Amonte Hiller.

To cast your vote for Amonte Hiller, simply click here to watch a YouTube video detailing the many ways in which Amonte Hiller is a trailblazer for women's lacrosse and women's athletics at large. The video with the most views between April 9 and April 23 will win a $9,000 prize for the nominating school, courtesy of the NACWAA Foundation Fund.

Additionally, representatives from the winning institution and its trailblazer will be invited to attend the 2012 NACWAA National Convention in Kansas City, Oct. 7-10.

Amonte Hiller has been a pioneer for the sport of women's lacrosse ever since she arrived at Northwestern just over a decade ago, bringing a traditionally East Coast-based sport to the Midwest and quickly building a dynasty that has won six NCAA championships in a seven-year span. She works tirelessly to grow the sport with games, camps and clinics across the country while also leading the way in improvements to equipment, uniforms, media coverage and the very style in which lacrosse is played. The four-time national coach of the year has created numerous opportunities for the next generation of leaders in women's athletics, with nearly a dozen of her former players holding head or assistant coaching positions in Division I programs around the country.

Amonte Hiller's 2012 squad currently is ranked No. 1 in the nation with a perfect 12-0 mark and is set to host No. 3 North Carolina at 7 p.m. CT Friday in Evanston. The game will air live on the Big Ten Network.
