Order Lacrosse Season Tickets Online Now!
EVANSTON, Ill. -- The defending NCAA champion Northwestern women's lacrosse program has announced that season tickets for the 2012 campaign are now on sale. The Wildcats, national champions in six of the last seven years, are set to play 10 regular-season home games this spring, the most since 2007.
In addition to the surplus in home contests, 2012 season ticket holders will have the added bonus of receiving a replica 2011 NCAA championship ring, available only through the purchase of season tickets.
"Year in and year out, the support that our fans give us when they turn out to Lakeside Field always translates into extra motivation and success for our players," said head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. "Again this year, we'll have several highly ranked teams coming to Evanston and I expect them all to be entertaining games from a fan's perspective. We hope fans will take advantage of the value of the season ticket and spend part of their spring with us at Lakeside Field."
For a 10-game season pass, adult tickets are available for $49 while youth seats can be purchased for just $29. Northwestern once again will offer a family plan, which admits two adults and three youths to all 10 games at a total cost of $99. Order tickets today by calling the Northwestern ticket office at 1-888-GO-PURPLE or by visiting NU's online ticket sales office. Online sales will be conducted through March 3.
Season ticket purchasers save 25 percent off the cost of single-game tickets and, in addition to their replica NCAA championship ring, receive the added benefit of an invitation to a closed Wildcats practice followed by a meet-and-greet session with the team.
This year, the defending national champions will look to continue their run of excellence on their home turf, where the Wildcats have amassed an incredible record of 71-1 since 2005. NU kicks off its home slate against Oregon on Saturday, March 3, beginning a stretch of four home dates in five games during the month of March.
Northwestern also will be home in Evanston for much of April, closing its regular season schedule with a five-game homestand that includes tests against preseason top-10 opponents North Carolina, Florida and Virginia.
Amonte Hiller returns all but two starters from her 2011 NCAA title-winning team, including Tewaaraton Award recipient Shannon Smith, IWLCA Defender of the Year Taylor Thornton, All-American Alex Frank and three-year starting goalkeeper Brianne LoManto.
