    EVANSTON, Ill. - Top-ranked Northwestern continued its dominance this afternoon with a 17-8 win over No. 18 Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Kristen Kjellman scored six goals and senior Lindsey Munday added four as the Wildcats improved their mark to 5-0.

    Through its five wins this season, the Wildcats have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 83-31, an average of more than 10 goals per game (16.6 to 6.2).

    The win also improves NU's win streak to 26 games dating to the start of the 2005 season.

    The Wildcats opened the scoring with three straight goals from Kjellman (free position shot), Hannah Nielsen and Sarah Albrecht before Penn finally got on the board just over nine minutes in on a goal by Ginna Lance.

    But NU pulled away after that point over the next 12 minutes with the help of a 7-1 run which was highlighted by three goals from Munday. The Wildcats led 8-2 at halftime and kept the pressure on early in the second with two goals in the first 1:46 from Munday and Annie Elliott.

    NU goalkeeper Morgan Lathrop (4-0) turned in another solid game between the pipes with six saves, playing all 60 minutes.

    Laura Glassanos and Aly Josephs both had two goals while Glassanos had a game-high four assists.

     

     

    The Wildcats are back in action Sunday, March 19 at home vs. No. 14 Notre Dame.
