Played on the par-72, 6,138-yard Jack Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall, the Wildcats are part of the 17-team field that includes 10 teams ranked in the top-30 by Golfstat.com.

Northwestern is one of those teams ranked in the top-30, coming in at No. 18 this week. Other highly-ranked teams in this year’s field include No. 3 Arizona, No. 5 Duke, No. 11 North Carolina State, No. 14 Michigan State, No. 16 Oklahoma State, No. 22 Purdue, No. 24 Notre Dame, No. 27 Texas Tech and No. 29 Penn State.

The Northwestern starting five of senior Lauren Weaver, junior Devon Brown, sophomores Hana Lee and Nicole Zhang and freshman Kaitlin Park look to finish the fall season strong and carry some momentum with them into their final tournament. NU has finished in the top five in its previous three tournaments and broke a school record at its most recent round, played at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. NU scored a 4-under 284 in the final 18 holes, besting the previous record of 286 set at the 2011 Big Ten Championships by two strokes.

The Wildcats took fourth in Knoxville, improving their standing each round over the three-day tournament. A trio of underclassmen placed in the top-20, including Lee’s fourth-place finish. Lee broke a number of personal bests at the last tournament, scoring a career-low 2-under 214 for 54 holes, a 3-under 69 in the first round and her fourth-place finish was a career-best. Lee has led the NU squad with three top-10 finishes so far this season.

Park had the best tournament of her young Northwestern career, posting her first top-10 finish as she placed sixth. Park was one stroke off of a program record for 18 holes, scoring a 5-under 67 in the third and final round as she finished one stroke behind Lee at 1-under 215.

Zhang has two top-20 finishes so far this season, including her tie for 15th at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships.
