EVANSTON, Ill. -- After a week and a half long layoff, the Wildcats will be back on the links, traveling to West Lafayette, Ind., to compete in the Lady Northern Invitational this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 and 19. The 54-hole tournament will get underway with the first 36 on Saturday, and conclude with the final 18 Sunday morning.

Northwestern will meet up with all ten of the remaining Big Ten Conference teams, including 17th-ranked Purdue, which is serving as the host of the Invitational. Iowa State, Notre Dame and Toledo round out the 14-team field. The tournament will be played at Purdue's Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, a par-72, 6,276-yard course that will also serve as the site of the 2009 Big Ten Championships at the end of April.

The Wildcats are looking to build off their 10th-place finish at the Windy City Collegiate Classic last Monday and Tuesday, and are hoping to have another strong outing from sophomore Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy), who shot a six-over 222 to finish in a tie for sixth, the first top-10 finish of her career. Senior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) and Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) hope to factor into the mix as well, as the two have compiled scoring averages of 76.83 and 77.83 respectively through the first two outings of the year. Freshmen Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) are expected to round out the scorecard for NU.

Action gets underway at 8 a.m. CDT both days, and live scoring of the event will be available at Golfstat.com.
