EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Alex Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) has been named the Big Ten's Golfer of the Week after tying for fourth place individually at the 32nd Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational last week in Albuquerque, N.M.

Lederhausen fired an 54-hole even-par 219 on the par-73 UNM Championship Course, improving one stroke in each round after opening with a 1-over 74. The senior entered the final round in 12th position before vaulting up to fourth with a 1-under 72 featuring five birdies.

Lederhausen led Northwestern to a fourth-place team finish out of 18 entries at the Invitational to earn the first weekly award of her career and the Wildcats' first since Liliana Alvarez on March 9, 2007. Lederhausen shares this week's honor with Wisconsin's Jessie Gerry.

Northwestern next is in action in its home Windy City Classic Oct. 3-4 at the Glen View Club in Golf, Ill. The 15-team tournament will feature 36 holes of play Monday, Oct. 3, with the final round of the 54-hole event on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Admission is free to spectators.
