    2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship 

    CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Incoming Northwestern freshman Kacie Komoto (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) advanced to match play at the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. Playing on the par-71, 6,488-yard course at The Country Club of Charleston, Komoto carded a 7-over 149 during two rounds of stroke play to make the cut.

    Komoto opened up competition on Monday with a 6-over 77 and improved her score by five strokes during Tuesday's second round, carding a 1-over 72.

    The incoming NU freshman is now onto match play at the 113th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. On Wednesday, she faces Brooke Henderson from Canada in the round of 64. Follow Komoto's results with this link.

    This is Komoto's third trip to the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. She earned a spot in the 2013 field by winning the Hawaii qualifier.
