EVANSTON, Ill. -- Hana Lee made Northwestern women’s golf history throughout the 2013-14 season by setting the program’s single-season scoring record at 74.09, matched her own school record for a single-round with a 6-under 66 and is now the first All-American in program history. The Hacienda Heights, Calif., native was recently named to Golfweek’s All-American teams and received honorable mention accolades.

Lee, who just wrapped up her junior year with the Wildcats, was NU’s leader throughout the 2013-14 season with four top-10 finishes. A two-time First Team All-Big Ten recipient, Lee captured medalist honors at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic with her 6-under 66 and also recorded a third-place finish at the 2014 Big Ten Championships. Additionally, Lee was part of an NU squad that returned to the NCAA Championships in 2014 and placed amongst the top 15 teams in the country.

Through three seasons in Evanston, Lee has improved her scoring average each year and her 75.00 career average ranks No. 1 in NU records amongst Wildcats that have played at least 100 rounds. She has 10 top-10 showings and 14 top-20 finishes in her three seasons at Northwestern.

Lee has continued her momentum from the 2013-14 season and recently claimed co-medalist honors at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifier on July 7. She recorded a 1-under 69 to tie for first and secured a spot in the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, which runs Aug. 4-10 in Glen Cove, N.Y.

Golfweek and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) each name All-America teams at the conclusion of the women’s golf season. Lee’s honorable mention recognition by Golfweek marks the first time a Northwestern women’s golfer has received All-America honors.
