EVANSTON, Ill. – After taking home co-medalist honors at the 2014 Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic by matching a program record with a 6-under 66, junior Hana Lee was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the conference announced today.

The Hacienda Heights, Calif., native matched her own program record and tied the tournament record for a single round with her score of 66. She earned medalist honors for the first time in her Northwestern career.

Additionally, Lee helped Northwestern set another school record for a single round as the team finished first in the stroke play portion of the tournament. The Wildcats scored an 11-under 277, which is well ahead of the previous school record of 284 for a single round, and finished ahead of top-10 squads including No. 1 USC, No. 4 Arkansas and No. 10 Alabama. It was the second time this year the Wildcats were atop the leaderboard after winning the 2014 Hurricane Invitational.

This is the third Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor for Lee and second this season after she collected the award on March 6, 2014, following her fifth-place finish at the Hurricane Invitational.

Northwestern, who is ranked No. 20 in the latest Golfstat rankings, is back in action Monday, April 14-Tuesday, April 15 at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif.
