STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Northwestern continued play at the 2012 NCAA East Regional Friday at the Penn State Blue Course. Freshman Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson) had the best round of the day for the ’Cats, posting a two-over 74, improving four strokes from her first-round score.
Lee began on the 10th hole and had six-straight holes on par before a bogey on No. 16. She wrapped-up the back nine with two more pars, finishing one-over. On the front nine, Lee birdied the first and ninth holes, again finishing the front nine at 1-over.
Sophomore Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) had the second-best score of the day for NU with a 3-over 75. Brown also had two birdies (holes nine and 18) and finished the back nine at 1-over.
As a team, NU is in 20th place after scoring a 20-over 308 in the second round. The ’Cats are three strokes behind Maryland and San Diego State who are both in a tie for 18th with a two-round total of 610 (+34). South Carolina (582, +6) continues to lead the field with a 7-stroke advantage on second-place Florida (589, +13).
