2010 NCAA Central Regional Results - Round Two
COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Northwestern moved up three spots in the team standings at the 2010 NCAA Women's Golf Central Regional, finishing round two in 15th-place after posting a 34-over 322. The Wildcats enter Saturday's final 18 holes at 67-over 643, two shots better than 16th-place Baylor and three shots ahead of host Indiana.
The Wildcats, who began the day in 18th, were able to move up three spots in the standings and enter Saturday four shots back of 14th-place Louisville (63-over 639). San Diego State (59-over 635) currently sits in 13th-place, holding an eight-stroke lead over Northwestern.
Sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) posted the low round of the afternoon for the Wildcats, recovering from a 5-over 41 over the first nine holes to finish the day with a 6-over 78. She currently sits second among the Northwestern competitors, two strokes back of junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) who shot an 11-over 83 and is at 14-over 158.
Freshman Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) is third on the Northwestern scorecard as her 10-over 82 over the second round gave her a two-round total of 18-over 162. Junior Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) and sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) round out the Wildcats, checking in with a 19-over 163 and a 25-over 169 respectively.
Scores were up across the board on a windy day in central Indiana as Southern California posted a round-best 16-over 304 to slide past top-seeded Arizona State into first-place with a 27-over 603. The Trojans have a four-shot advantage on their Pac-10 counterparts as the Sun Devils are at 31-over 607. Oklahoma State remains in the mix, entering Saturday's final round 10 shots back with a 37-over 613. Oregon (45-over 621) and Purdue (47-over 623) round out the top five, followed by New Mexico, Denver, Mississippi, Michigan State and Georgia.
Saturday's final 18 holes will get underway at 7 a.m. CT with the 24-team field again teeing off in waves. The Wildcats are teamed up with Louisville and San Diego State in the afternoon's first group and will tee-off at 11:30 a.m. CT. Live scoring of Saturday's final round is available at Golfstat.com.
